  2. Larry,

I am approaching 60 years old and have recently taken an interest in learning Spanish. I had it way way back in high school and was surprised on a recent trip to Punta Cana, how rapidly the language skills returned (although very basic). I was happy that I was able to make myself understood and even have some basic conversation in Spanish. Since then I have been using your podcasts and listening to cds in my car with the hope of improvement. I would like to go to Spanish Immersion school in Cuernavaca. There are so many schools there. Is there one or more that you would recommend? Also, I am considering taking my fifteen year old granddaughter with me for a cultural experience. She has had no language in school. Do you think that it would be a waste to have her attend?

  6. Thanks so much for doing this. I came across your work on one of the Democracy Player channels. So thanks for creating that channel and getting quality creative commons material out to a wider audience.

I’m up in Worcester, MA. Most of my neighbors are Puerto Rican and Dominican …. I’ll adapt the Spanish to fit .. : )

    thx Kevin

  8. Judy,

The Spanish immersion course I attended was hosted by Universidad Internacional, The Center for Linguistic Multicultural Studies. I thought it was a good school. It is the language school in Cuernavaca that my school district has chosen. I know there are many others, but I’m not familiar with them.

As for this kind of program benefitting your granddaughter, that is a tough question. Universidad Internacional does indeed have programs for students of her age. And I’m sure they offer classes for a variety of Spanish language skill levels, but I would talk to a school representative to get more information.

Thank you for watching, and for your comment.

    Buena suerte.

  9. This is an awesome way to learn Spanish a little at a time. I used Rosetta Stone for several months and then starting using Rolling R’s. It really put it all together for me.

    Thanks Larry!

  10. This is an awesome way to add very real usage to your Spanish. I have used Rosetta Stone for a few months and these lessons have helped me put it all together.

    Thanks Larry!

  11. You don’t address telling time with “menos”.
You should mention “15″ and “cuarto” as well as “media” as well as treinta”.
Your site has good pronunciation, but the “ser” in this episode sounds like English.
