  • Rolling R’s 88 – Get Started with Spanish – Subject Pronouns

    This episode of Rolling R’s is for the Spanish beginner (If you’ve been watching Rolling R’s for a while, this will be a nice review for you).

    In this video, Larry covers one of the most important and foundational concepts for communicating effectively in Spanish. Action words (verbs) are at the essence of communicating in any language, and the template that you see in this video will help you get started with using Spanish action words. Some people call this a conjugation table, but just think of it as a tool to help you build Spanish sentences in a simple way.

    Larry begins by showing the different Spanish subject pronouns. These set up who or what is doing the action. Here they are:

    Yo = I Nosotros = We
    Tú = You Vosotros = You all
    Usted = You (formal)
    Él = He
    Ella = She
    Ustedes = You all
    Ellos = They (masculine)
    Ellas = They (femanine)

    In the video, Larry reviews the concept of “formal” and “informal” ways of talking in Spanish, and he also touches on gender. Overall, this Spanish lesson video will provide a solid start to learning the language.
